The Home (Political) Department is headed by the Chief Secretary, Government of Meghalaya assisted by the Additional Chief Secretary, Principal Secretary, Commissioner & Secretary, Joint Secretary, Deputy Secretary and Under Secretary. The Chief Minister holds the direct charge of Political Department.
The Department deals mainly with the issues relating to Law & Order in the State. The Department does not have any subordinate offices under its control.
गृह (राजनीतिक) विभाग का नेतृत्व मेघालय सरकार के मुख्य सचिव द्वारा किया जाता है, जिन्हें अतिरिक्त मुख्य सचिव, प्रमुख सचिव, आयुक्त एवं सचिव, संयुक्त सचिव, उप सचिव और अवर सचिव सहायता प्रदान करते हैं। मुख्यमंत्री इस विभाग का प्रत्यक्ष प्रभार रखते हैं।
यह विभाग मुख्य रूप से राज्य में कानून एवं व्यवस्था से संबंधित मामलों को संभालता है। विभाग के अंतर्गत कोई अधीनस्थ कार्यालय नहीं है।
